Has your week been bold and beautiful? Did you play a game of Hungry Hungry Hippo-crites? Did you wish you'd stayed in self-isolation? Did you set out to tarnish a bent halo? These and more situations faced the Forrester-Logan-Spencer-Spectra-Fulton-Buckingham clan this week!
And here we are, Scoopers! We continue to live through one of the wackiest plot twists of our lives. Unlike soap characters, whose destiny it is to go through the wringer, I hope you all are staying home and staying safe. In the Los Angeles of our screens, no one bothered holding mirrors up to Ridge or Quinn during the Brill bashing, and Sally's death deception gained rooting value. Ready? Let's Scoop about it!
Well, Brooke got snagged kissing Bill, thanks to that I-don't-know-why-I-shot-it video Shauna made that ended up on Bridge's digital frame. Gasps were gasped and pearls were clutched. But there was something unique about Katherine Kelly Lang's performance here as Brooke tried to apologize her way out of another "mistake." Something earthy that I haven't seen in 33 years of Brooke foibles. Kudos, KKL!
Yet do any of these people have room to talk? Yes, Brooke is the Queen of "Oops I Did It Again," but all of these guys have inappropriately kissed someone at one time or another. And Brooke at least has one saving grace here -- she was only technically married at the time of the kissy-poo with Bill. That doesn't make it right, of course, but Ridge's divorce papers were one errand away from being filed.
So, I'm finding Ridge's indignation a little hard to stomach here. To begin with, this is the guy who "Oh, Logan"ed Brooke when it turned out she'd slept with a masked Oliver! Ridge was chill about that -- but one kiss with Bill while he and Brooke were separated was so much worse? He himself later admitted to Quinn that he was a hypocrite because he had kissed Shauna way more than once!
"I can forgive almost anything," Ridge grunted, "but not Spencer." Oh, that's right -- Ridge's hatred for Bill so blinded him that he kept insisting Bill had raped Steffy, which triggered Taylor to pull the trigger on Bill! I'm not saying Ridge doesn't have a right to be hurt here; he just shouldn't be ready for a Bridge collapse when he did the exact same thing, plus made Brooke wrong for months about Thomas leading up to it.
The truly betrayed one in this sitch is Katie, and even she isn't generating much sympathy from me right now. She knew damn well what Bill was about when she took Bill back the first time -- and that was after his first dalliance with Brooke on top of his being ready to leave Katie for Steffy! Fool me twice, shame on me; fool me thrice, ain't enough shame for you.
It's said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. It's not that Katie is to blame for any of this; Brill had no business kissing, and neither Brooke nor Bill was thinking of Katie in that out-of-nowhere moment. It's just Katie's been done over by the Dollah for a decade. It finally clicked for Katie that Brooke and Bill cross lines separately and together -- and always will.
Seriously, what was Bill thinking? He told Katie that her kidney-related death-brush was scary -- wouldn't that have made Bill more devoted to Katie? Instead, he was inspired to kiss her sister again. This is all being cooked up to give Shauna something to do. As for Bill, at least he displayed a glimmer of integrity by offering to move out instead of Katie.
By the way, what the hell was the point of bringing Bridget back for this? It was great seeing Ashley Jones again, but Budge did nothing but stand there and take a jab from Quinn about never being home. You'd think the original victim of Brooke's hot-for-a-loved-one's-man schtick would have been the first one to take her to task over its reboot! Bridget was amazingly supportive of her mother...maybe too much so.
The Mighty Quinn stood back and delighted in the chaos unfolding around her. Until she decided to speak up and announce that she was responsible for arranging NBC's Sunday Night at the Movies! Yes, she luxuriated in exposing Brooke's tonsil hockey will Bill, even declaring, "I think I have the moral high ground here!" Excuse me, am I losing my hearing as our quarantine continues?
Quinn lost the right to any moral high ground when she crafted a sword and was thisclose to impaling Liam with it, to say nothing of kidnapping him and pretending to be his wife, all so Wyatt could have the women he wanted. Quinn has not been forgiven in my eyes. She slinked away, said she was getting help by text, and then supposedly reformed all because of the love of a good man. Yeah, right.
And did Quinn not betray the love of that same good man by kissing Ridge, not once, but several times? Quinn doesn't have a leg to stand on here, and neither does Ridge on this very score. I also don't buy Quinn's sudden concern for Katie's humiliation. Quinn hated Katie when she was involved with Wyatt, and it would be hard for anybody to feel sorry for someone who held a gun on them.
"I didn't take any pleasure in uploading that video," Quinn said to Ridge with a straight face. Bull! Quinn was so pleased with herself, it was all she could do not to giggle out loud while Eric's back was turned. Speaking of whom, Quinn didn't seem at all worried that she'd face backlash from her husband. She should be. Because Eric has a soft spot for Brooke the size of the hot air balloon they honeymooned in.
Not letting any dust settle, Quinn went straight to Ridge, who had walked out on Brooke, and let him know he needed to hustle because Shauna was leaving town. Could Quinn have been any more obvious? She already crowed to the crowd that Ridge needed to move on with a woman who deserved him. Who needs match.com when you've got a bloodletting Cupid, complete with poisoned arrows?
Quinn then took aim at Brooke, sneering, "I told you, don't go to war with me." So, that's what all this was about? Quinn was upset that Brooke got between Ridge and Shauna and tried to get Eric to dump Quinn, so Quinn spiked recovering alcoholic Brooke's OJ with vodka, and when that didn't work, she decided another weaponized video would be perfect for getting back at Brooke?
"What does Bill have that Ridge doesn't have?" Quinn scoffed. Did you almost laugh out loud, Scoopers? Brooke doesn't call Bill "Stallion" for nothing, and Wyatt is proof Quinn has ridden side-saddle on that particular steed. I got the feeling Quinn was still mad because she didn't get to sleep with Ridge, as well! Brooke vowed to stop Quinn's Rauna reunion. I'd love to see Brooke pull some Stephanie tactics on the Forrester "matriarch," wouldn't you?
Over at Reese's apartment, which I hope he signed the lease over to Flo for, Saint Florence was singing the departing Shauna's praises, apparently preparing her for canonization, too. Yes, Shauna was so wonderful for not wanting to come between Bridge with her make-out media. Sorry, there's only one halo on this show, Flo's wearing it, and y'all know she ain't about to share it.
Ridge got there just in time to interrupt the sainthood ceremony, so Flo made herself scarce by running out to buy groceries (ah, remember when running out to buy groceries was a thing?). When Shauna heard that Quinn had posted her deleted video, she figured Ridge was super torqued at her. But he wasn't! He would go to Vegas with Shauna, because they didn't lie to each other, and they had no secrets!
Um, didn't you just find out that Shauna filmed a secret video and kept its contents a secret? Ridge must have bought into Quinn's deflection that the "bad guy" wasn't Shauna, but Brill. Ridge lamented that Brooke never learned, but the same can be said about the Dressmaker. Disillusioned with one woman, he runs right to the other; ask Brooke and Taylor who really never learns. This is what he does.
And Shauna wasn't here for it! "I can't be used for you to get over your wife," Shauna informed Ridge. Huh! Maybe the former boutique owner has a true shred of forthrightness, after all. It didn't stop Shauna from accepting Ridge's kiss, though. So now Ridge has done the same thing he left Brooke for -- again -- kissed someone else while separated from a spouse. It's okay when Ridge does it, I guess. But not Brooke.
Again, I know Brooke has done a lot of shady ish in the name of following her estrogen-infused heart. It's just Ridge is ready to punish Brooke's latest incursion by running off to Vegas with another woman to "get to know her"...the same night he was ready to recommit to Brooke. Seems you can take the man out of the Speedo, but you can't take the Speedo out of the man! Shauna so stoopid!
For some bizarro reason, Zoe came over to check on Flo and see how she was holding up under loaning out her boyfriend to the dying Sally. Was there anything about that that made sense to you? A year ago, Zoe was fighting with Flo about keeping Beth's existence a secret. Two years ago, Zoe was framing Sally for cyber-bullying so she could get Emma out of Xander's way. Zoe's appearance here was totally random!
I know: Zoe has to have her screen time since her wedding to Thomas tanked. Hey, where is Thomas, anyway? The guy is in need of serious mental help, and his entire family let him run loose somewhere. Bet he shows right back up when he finds out Quinn succeeded where he couldn't by breaking up Bridge. Because you know that dude ain't gonna come home anywhere close to normal.
But I digress. Zoe looks to be driving for SnubHub now; she delivered some doubt to Flo about Wyatt possibly dumping her again as a result of his mission of mercy with Sally. Anyone else find it odd that Zoe was dishing out guy warnings when just a few weeks ago, she wasn't listening to any of her own? Zoe kept the shine on Flo's halo, hailing her generosity. Oh, gag me with a spoon. Hell, with the whole cutlery set.
Over at Casa Wyatt, Sally slathered on some theatrical makeup (nice touch!) and wheeled in with a walker, shocking Wyatt with a "hallucination" about snakes. Sally was deathly afraid of them. (And she lived in Florida?) You'd think Sally would be more terrified of tight spaces after having a building collapse on her. Ms. Spectra rallied long enough to tell Wyatt all she wanted was to spend the rest of her life with him.
Once alone, Sally spoke to herself by snarking, "What I really want is for you to tell [Flo] it's over." I guess that confirms it, but it's a bummer that Sally would want a dude back who dumped her twice. Doesn't the Spectra bloodline prohibit such desires? But Sally's snuff scheme sure got interesting when Dr. Penny Escobar simply let herself into the beach house! (Wouldn't Sally lock the door with Penny sniffing about?)
Penny again badgered Sally about coming clean, and it's a good thing, too. We got a lot of blanks filled in because of it! Sally's shaking and dizziness were real symptoms! But they were only stress-related. And it was just "sheer dumb luck" that Katie horned in on Sally's initial doctor visit. "I...knew the blabbermouth couldn't keep it to herself," Sally snorted.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't remember Katie being famous for lip-slips before. Thankfully, Sally saved it for me by revealing her real motivation for the scam: revenge against Flo! Better yet, Sally was aware the "manipulative baby thief" wasn't letting Wyatt spend time with her out of any compassion; it was because Flo wanted to be admired, because "she cares what people think about her."
Well, finally! I was sure everyone on the show -- save Hope and Brooke -- was just drinking the Flo Kool-Aid, and that's all there was to it. It's nice that the writing room realizes Flo is not the angel she's been made out to be since she donated a kidney to Katie. That Sally realizes it, too, and is using it against Flo, whom many viewers still call "Felony Flo," is ace.
Sally admitted she'd gone to extremes, but she was going to pay "that scheming bitch" back for stealing Wyatt -- and protect him from Flo while she was at it. I have to admit, this story is starting to appeal to me. The plan was, when Wyatt declared his love again, Sally would go into "treatment." In the meantime, Sally would treat Flo like the saint she thought she was to disorient Flo and make Wyatt ripe for the picking.
Sally even sent Flo "I didn't know such goodness existed in the world" flowers to reinforce it! But Sally may want to start worrying about a bad Penny turning up. Flo decided she wanted to visit Dr. Escobar to discuss possible different cures for Sally's condition. Rut-ro! Will Sally get busted? I don't care which femme fatale ends up with Wyatt -- I am all about some Sally vs. Flo deviousness!

You know B&B has halted production during this pandemic, which at least is now giving us special rebroadcast episodes to stretch out the remaining shows in the can -- this Friday saw the 30th anniversary celebration in Australia! Ah, to see a normal Thomas again...and Pierson. Oh, Pierson.
Protect yourself and others as we ride out this pandemic -- we will get to the other side of it! As for B&B, Sally's doin' a screw-over Spectra-style, so keep watching, be alert, and most of all, be bold.
