Cameron Mathison's (Ryan Lavery) future with Prospect Park's version of All My Children remains uncertain, but the actor does have an acting gig lined up. The Emmy-nominated actor will appear in a holiday movie airing in November 2013.
Mathison will co-star with Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Jennie Garth in the ABC Family movie Home Again. The movie is part of the network's annual "Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas" programming event.
In the movie, Mathison will play Carter, the childhood sweetheart of Garth's Melody, a high-powered corporate workaholic for a retail conglomerate. Melody expects to spend the holidays with her jet-setting friends, but her boss sends her to her sleepy hometown to help win support for the company's plans to build a new discount store.
During her visit, Melody takes a tumble and hits her head, and she wakes up in an alternate universe where she and Carter are married.
Production on the film began in early January in Toronto.
As for the possibility that he might return to All My Children, a place he called home for more than a decade, Mathison offered a cryptic response.
"[For] those asking, I'm not sure if I'll be part of the new AMC," Mathison explained on Twitter. "I'm lucky to be working these days, so I'm working on the scheduling:) Hope so!"
During Prospect Park's first attempt to launch AMC online, Mathison was one of a handful of All My Children stars the company signed.
Mathison made his first Pine Valley appearance in 1998. Though he made a brief exit from July 2002 to July 2003, Mathison remained with the show through the broadcast of its final episode in September 2011.
